Delivering some of the harvest to Loaves and Fishes!

Harvesting the garden and donating to Kalamazoo Loaves and FIshes

Each spring, Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes works with the Kalamazoo Valley Plant Growers Co-op to receive donated fruit and veggie seedlings. They received hundreds of plants for clients, and some that didn't get taken home were planted in the Community Association's garden. Youth members from the Douglass Unit spent some time picking veggies those same seedlings produced, and then donated it back to KLF. We love when giving comes full circle. Jackie Smith, the Douglass Pantry Coordinator, made sure the kids got to see where their freshly-picked donations would be stored for clients this week.

The veggies grew amazing!

The youth had a blast learning how to garden!
